The priest made a stupa stick and said words for the clothes.
I lit a incense stick.

お坊さんに卒塔婆をたててお経を唱えてもらい、
お線香をあげた。

<About the title"mori">
"もり”means "forest" in Japanese.
When I named so,
I imagined many things hung on many trees,
and also the sound would go well with such swelled up stuff.

Afterwards, I noticed.
The spelling in Roman letter is "mori",
which mean "death" in Latin.

The name of "mori" may simpathize with
headless bodies,
old clothes as cast-off skins,
disintegrating cloth or time.

<タイトル「もり」について>

たくさんのものがたくさんの木の中に吊るされている様子と、
ふくらんだからだのイメージにしっくりくる語感を意識して
「もり」というタイトルをつけていた。

一段落してから考えてみると、
「もり」をローマ字表記すると「mori」となる。
"memento mori"というフレーズでも知られるように、
"mori"は、ラテン語で「死ぬこと」を意味する。

頭が欠けていること、だらりとぶら下がる様子、
古着の持つ抜け殻のような存在感、
時間の経過や風化…
こういった要素とこの名前は共鳴していたんだと思う。
